Dr. Dhaka Sapkota is a Physics graduate of University of Miami who specializes in space instrumentation. For his graduate work, he developed and analyzed the performance of the x-ray proportional counter. With the results from two sounding rockets experiments, he was able to characterize and quantify the Diffuse X-ray Background from the Local Galaxy. After graduation in May 2020, he now works as a technology and material property investigator on planetary science.
Dr. Sapkota has experience with lunar ice extraction, magnetic and electrostatic properties of regolith and its components, granular physics, cratering mechanism and microwave sintering of regolith.
