AST 6156 Current Topics in Planetary Science
AST 6156 Current Topics in Planetary Science is a graduate seminar in which we focus on a planetary science research topic and learn all aspects of it, from science to mission planning and operations. The instructor arranges for lectures from experts in the field as well as from students participating in the class. Note that sometimes a similar course is offered as AST 6938.

- Spring 2017: in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) in space.
- Spring 2018: sample return from a near-Earth asteroid with OSIRIS-REx and Hayabusa 2.
- Spring 2020: the economic geology of lunar and asteroid resources.
- Spring 2021: science in planetary radar, in Earth’s atmosphere, and in astrophysics at Arecibo Observatory.
